Hey there, design enthusiasts! I’m so excited to be back from the High Point Market 2023, where I had the chance to explore all the latest and greatest trends in the world of interior design.

If you’re not already familiar with High Point Market, it’s the biggest — we’re talking 11 million square feet of showrooms — home furnishing trade show and for us in the industry, it’s like Disney World meets art gallery meets a party with everyone you admire. Twice a year, we get swept  way in a whirl of colors, patterns, and textures and come home inspired and refreshed for our clients.

This year’s market was nothing short of spectacular, and I can’t wait to share with you the top three interior design trends that had me jumping with joy.

1. Beige is Back, Baby!

It’s official: Beige is back, and it’s better than ever. This year, we saw a glorious resurgence of this timeless hue. But hold on, this isn’t your grandmother’s beige – it’s fresher and more inviting than ever. We’re talking about warmer, cozier tones in upholstery and even wood finishes. Think soft, sandy beiges that create a soothing, relaxed atmosphere in your home.

Gone are the days of beige being considered boring; it’s now the epitome of timeless elegance and versatility. Be ready to incorporate this classic shade into your interior design projects, from sofas and accent chairs to dining tables and even wall colors.

2. Bright, Bold, and Busy Patterns

If you’ve ever been a fan of the funky patterns of the ’60s and ’70s, you’re in for a treat! This year’s High Point Market showcased an explosion of bright, bold, and busy wallpaper and fabric patterns that pay homage to the fabulous retro era.
Expect to see a kaleidoscope of colors, oversized florals, geometric shapes, and abstract designs. These patterns bring energy, personality, and a touch of nostalgia to your spaces. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different patterns; the more adventurous, the better!

Whether you choose to go all-in with a statement wall covered in a vibrant wallpaper or prefer to introduce these playful patterns through throw pillows and accent furniture, the key is to have fun with your decor. It’s all about embracing a bit of whimsy and creating spaces that make you smile every day.

3. Red is Making a Grand Comeback

Oh, red, how we’ve missed you! For years, we’ve been on a mission to avoid this bold and passionate color, but it seems that red has refused to be left behind. Looking ahead to 2024, it’s making a triumphant comeback, and it’s nothing short of spectacular.

From deep, rich burgundies to vibrant scarlets, red is injecting warmth, drama, and sophistication into our interiors. You’ll find it in everything from statement furniture pieces like couches and accent chairs to eye-catching accessories like rugs, throw blankets, and artwork.

Red brings a sense of confidence and energy to any room. It’s a color that commands attention and elevates the ambiance, making it perfect for creating focal points or adding a touch of glamour. So, don’t shy away from this passionate hue – embrace it with open arms!

Until next year…

High Point Market 2023 truly offered a wealth of inspiration for interior design enthusiasts. Whether you’re a fan of the understated elegance of beige, the vibrant nostalgia of bold patterns, or the dramatic allure of red, there’s something for everyone in this year’s design trends.

As we venture into this new era of interior design, remember that the key to a successful home makeover is to infuse your own personality and style into these trends. Make them your own, and let your home be a reflection of your unique taste and individuality.

I can’t wait to see how these trends inspire your future projects. Happy decorating, and here’s to creating spaces that are as fabulous as you are!
