Spa-like Primary Suite in Springfield
Existing Space & Design Challenges
The clients already owned several key pieces including the bed, rug, and light fixtures (that were not yet installed). They scheduled a VIP Day to get help finishing the space as the room felt cold & unfinished & the paint color wasn’t working.
Spa-Like Vision
The goal was to transform the primary suite into a warm, spa-like retreat that felt more like a boutique hotel, somewhere they could truly feel like they were on vacation at home.
Bedroom Transformation & Styling
During the VIP Day, we focused on completing & elevating the space. Light fixtures and a ceiling fan were installed, furniture was re-positioned, and new dressers were sourced. We replaced the existing blinds with soft, lush velvet drapery to add warmth and texture. Grasscloth wallpaper was added to bring in an organic, layered feel. The existing rug became the jumping off point for the overall color palette.
Bathroom Transformation
As the bedroom came together, the project expanded into a full bathroom renovation. The original bathroom had an awkward floor plan so it was fully gutted and re-oriented. The new layout feels significantly larger and more functional.
Spa-Inspired Vision
The redesigned bathroom features a wet room with green hexagon tile from The Tile Bar, which served as a key inspiration point. Wallpaper was selected to coordinate seamlessly with the bedroom wallpaper creating a cohesive suite. A custom walnut vanity from Decora Cabinets was chosen to feel more like furniture while maximizing storage with drawers, which are far more functional than traditional cabinets. The shower includes separate his-and-hers niches for added convenience.
Final Result
The result is a super warm, spa-like, boutique hotel inspired primary suite and bathroom that feels both elevated and inviting.
