Kitchen, Walk-In Pantry & Mudroom Renovation

This project began with addressing significant structural issues caused by unpermitted work completed by previous homeowners. Several elements were brought up to code including the installation of a critical structural support beam that was necessary to ensure the long-term safety and stability of the home.

To improve functionality the layout was completely reimagined. Space was gained by bumping into the garage and raising an existing closet to create a walk-in pantry. The kitchen was rotated and redesigned to allow for better flow, maximizing both storage and usability. A custom mudroom with built-in storage was added creating a dedicated drop zone where everything has a place.

The homeowners love color and wanted a kitchen that felt vibrant and expressive. The cabinetry features a rich blue complemented by medium oak accents on the island and custom hood for warmth and contrast. Durable tile flooring was selected for both the kitchen and mudroom to withstand heavy use, especially with frequent indoor-outdoor traffic to the backyard during summer months. Materials were chosen to be highly functional, easy to clean, and visually cohesive.

Although the footprint was not large, storage was prioritized throughout. The island was carefully designed with a countertop cutout to improve circulation while still allowing for comfortable seating.

Primary Bathroom Renovation

The primary bathroom originally had an awkward, inefficient layout with a small enclosed space containing only a tub and toilet. The room was opened up and fully reconfigured to create a more spacious and functional retreat. The new layout includes a large walk-in shower, a double vanity, and ample storage.

The design leans clean and timeless with mid-century modern influences. A wood vanity was selected to echo the warmth and materiality used in the kitchen island, creating continuity throughout the home.
