Spring always seems to bring a desire to spruce up and rearrange our homes. This month I’d like to provide you with simple tips for easy and inexpensive Spring spruce-ups you can do yourself to give your décor a little kick. Enjoy! – Paola

Change out your accent pillows – Add a touch of color, or a contrasting pop by simply changing out or adding accent pillows to your upholstery or bedding. Think spring and add fun, bold pinks, chartreuse or turquoise to your neutral sofa to bring them to life.

Add an accent wall – Paint is not the only way to add an accent wall. Consider temporary wallpaper or wall stickers to give a bland wall some personality. Search www.etsy.com or www.houzz.com for contemporary, modern or transitional temporary wallpapers or wall stickers that are easy to install and easy to remove next spring when you are ready for a new look.

Update your lighting or ceiling fans – Lighting fixtures can be both functional and dramatic and can add so much personality to a space. They are also easy to change out and come in so many styles and price points. Replace your existing chandeliers, pendants and ceiling fans for more unique, sculptural or even colorful ones. Or change out your lamps for more fun, colorful or unique ones and completely change the feel of a room.

Update your fireplace mantel or console table décor – Simple but dramatic accessory changes to your mantel or display tables can give your space a whole new feel. Change out heavy vases and candleholders for lighter, more rustic ones. Or add a pop of color with a bright, bold vase or unique sculptural fixture. Try something new and outside of the box with color and arrangement. Remember, accessories usually look best when grouped together in varying sizes and in groups of threes and fives.
